  • Physiotherapy - Endorsed Provider Network (EPN) and Regulation

    • Physiotherapy available at all Habit sites.
    • Treatment modalities cover musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Services

    • Stay at Work (SAW) - Support for ACC clients who are off work and need help to rehabilitate back to their pre-injury job. Predominantly involves an OT or Physiotherapist going to a workplace to discuss with the client's employer return-to-work options. The service coordinates the return to work alongside the client’s GP, treating Physiotherapist, and Specialist.
    • Back to Work (BTW) - Support for clients who are unable to return to the pre-injury role. Involves identification of transferable skills and also increasing skill development, ready for placement back into work. This can include CV development, online job search, interview skills, computer training, licenses, and industry training such as sales and service courses.
    • Job Search Services (JSS) - Available for clients after vocational independence assessments to assist with active job search.
  • Pain ManagemeNT services (PMS)

    • A tailored service with a comprehensive multidisciplinary team of Medical Specialists (Pain, Occupational Medicine and Musculoskeletal Specialists), Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists, as a core team; with Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Dietitians, Counsellors and Pharmacists available.
  • Educational Based Rehabilitation Assessment (EBRA)**

    • Carried out by paediatric staff specialised in school-aged children who have sustained brain injuries, spinal injuries, birth injuries, and those that continue to require support in the classroom.
  • Support Needs Assessment (SNA)**

  • Social Rehabilitation Needs Assessment (SRNA)

    • To identify home-based care needs and equipment that will assist a client to return to independence
      in the home.
  • Training for Independence (TI)*

  • The objective of TI is to return the person to independence in their daily lives as much as possible.

Concussion Services

A multidisciplinary service consisting of a team of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists with vestibular training, Psychologists, Neuropsychologists and Medical Specialists with experience in managing clients after a brain injury and its sequela. Our teams often liaise with the Vocational Rehabilitation teams to ensure a smooth transition to work.

Assessment and treatment for clients following injury, for post-accident grief, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression.

NZ ACC Coverage - Habit Initial Occupational Assessments and Vocational Independence Occupational Assessments

initial Occupational Assessments (IOA) and Vocational independence occupational assessments (VIOA)

For clients who are unlikely to return to the pre-accident role; assessment carried out by a Career Practitioner or Vocational Consultant. IOA identifies the client's skills and potential future work options based on those skills, and what further training the client may require to meet requirements for specific job options.  Job options are based around the ANZSCO and ACC work detail sheets. VIOA is an assessment after a BTW service that considers if the required training has been completed, and if the client is work ready from a skills perspective for the identified future work options.
